Acran Sound Control’s inertial filtration systems are engineered to use the principle of inertia via changes in air direction to separate a clean air stream from particle-laden air. This type of system is commonly engineered for industrial and commercial settings to remove larger particles from the air, such as dust, dirt, sand, and other debris.

Typical applications include mining equipment such as draglines and shovels, ventilation filtration for high sand load environments, and as a primary filter upstream of a dry media filter system. In dusty environments it is not unusual for inertial filters to be cleaned once every six months, whereas in the same application dry media filters may require replacement every fortnight. As such they are a cost-effective and low maintenance method of air filtration that can help improve internal air quality while protecting equipment from damage caused by airborne debris.

Main applications

  • Mining equipment such as draglines and shovels
  • Ventilation filtration for high sand load environments
  • Primary filter upstream of a dry media filter system
